Rotary presents April, May and June Students of the Month awards
April’s Student of the Month was awarded to Shawn Jones, Jr a Sequim High senior with multiple hours of community service at the Food Bank and The Boys & Girls Club.  He is ASB Vice-President and in Honor Society.  His plan after graduation is to attend the University of Washington.  He was joined by his parents and grandmother.
May’s Student of the Month was awarded to Saige Turner, a sophomore and avid dancer.  She volunteers at the Fish Hatchery and has helped with the Trey Green Gala and is in Leadership Class.  She hopes to pursue a career in teaching ballet and dance in the future.
Dakota Henderson was awarded June’s Student of the Month.  She is a senior at Sequim High School and has a kind heart.  She frequently volunteers her time in the classroom helping other students, always with a smile.  Dakota was accompanied at the luncheon by her mom and grandparents.
Past President, Rochelle McHugh presented each young person with a Student of the Month Certificate for inclusion in their scholarship notebooks and a collectible uncirculated silver dollar as a memento of their award.
The Standing Liberty Silver Dollar is a numismatic treasure representing The Rotary Club of Sequim’s appreciation for each student’s contributions to the community to date and into the future.
President Ed Ebling invited each student to introduce their families and to speak about their current activities and future goals.
