The Rotary Club of Sequim with the helping hands of several Sequim Sunrise Rotarians hosted over 550 folks of our community to a fun-filled day with their deliciously famous alder-baked River salmon dinner.  As an alternative folks who do not like salmon had the choice of a tasty pulled pork sandwich.
This was the 49th consecutive year for this dinner and has become an annual event for Sequim residents and visitors alike.  Even though it was a bit windy, like most years, the weather was cooperative and did not rain as forecast.  Next year’s 50th celebration is in the planning stages now.
The Cat’s Meow and the Dukes of Dabob musically entertained the crowds while prizes were raffled off and a vendor mall with many local non-profits shared their information.  This year’s sponsors included Hitchbridge Management Services, Sequim Health and Rehabilitation, the Jones Sunshine Fund and the YMCA.   Proceeds from this event will be spent in support of many local charities including the Boys & Girls Club, Dictionaries for Fourth Graders, executing of the Irrigation Festival Parade, etc.  For more info or inquiries about what Rotary does, please call President Bob Hitchcock at 701-264-9725.
